Eric Hennenhoefer

President & CEO and Co-Founder

Eric defined a new niche for microprocessor functional verification software and drove the concept from the white board to international deployment. Prior to founding Obsidian, Eric was team lead on the K7 (Athlon) verification project at AMD. Before that, he worked at IBM as a verification engineer. Eric is actively involved in the administration of the Design Verification Club, Austin Technology Council and the Texas Entrepreneurs Organization. He holds a MS in Computer Engineering from Penn State.

Mark Glenewinkel

Chief Operations Officer

Mark has over 20 years of broad experience in business development, operations, sales management, investments, corporate strategy and restructuring. He has direct industry experience in semiconductor engineering and sales, venture capital, manufacturing, and engineering software. He holds a BSEE from Texas A&M University.

Rob Gowin

Co-Founder and Developer

Rob co-wrote the initial code base for the RAVEN random test generator. He currently spends much of his time on R&D and enhancing the efficiency of the tool. Prior to founding Obsidian, Rob worked at AMD as a verification engineer. Rob holds a MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Becky Cavanaugh

Co-Founder and Developer

Becky co-wrote the RAVEN generator along with Rob Gowin after leaving AMD in 1997. Currently, Becky works as a developer on the PowerPC implementation of RAVEN and serves as senior methodology consultant. When she’s not writing generator code, Becky sings early 20th century melodies around Austin with The Studebakers. Becky holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Melanie Typaldos

Senior Member of Technical Staff

Melanie Typaldos has over twenty years of experience in all levels of processor development for compilers and debuggers through verification and design. Before joining Obsidian in 2000, she spent eleven years at Advanced Micro Devices working in the Embedded Processors Division. Melanie brings a breadth and depth of knowledge not commonly found in a single individual. Most recently she has functioned as technical lead for the RAVEN ARM development effort including full support for verification of multiprocessing.
