The Obsidian Story. Obsidian Software -- a private company -- was founded in 1997 in Austin, Texas, by three processor verification engineers. Convinced that there was a growing need for a commercial processor verification tool that could outperform internally developed random test generators, the founders created a flexible verification solution powered by a knowledge engine that's fully aware of complex interactions between components and features of a core processor.
Many of the world's leading semiconductor companies -- using both proprietary and licensable IP architectures to design their microprocessors -- have leveraged Obsidian Software's RAVEN suite to improve processor designs and minimize the number of manufacturing spins. Today, Obsidian offers three variants of its RAVEN verification software:
Obsidian also provides several verification consulting services, including: |
